Service Plan Development

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) will add another component to the services of Mental Health Service Plan Development by a Non-physician. Effective for dates of service on or after October 1, 2014, Service Plan Development will include an Interdisciplinary Team component.  This will allow providers to conduct service plan development meetings with an interdisciplinary team that may or may not include the client and/or family member.

Service Plan Development is not required to be on the Healthy Connections member’s individualized plan of care.  Clinical documentation must support the units billed to Medicaid.  The additional codes are 99366 (Service Plan Development-Interdisciplinary Team with Client) and 99367 (Service Plan Development-Interdisciplinary Team without Client).  The current code H0032 (Service Plan Development by a Non-physician) remains in effect.  All other policy requirements remain in effect.

Should you have any questions regarding this bulletin, please contact the SCDHHS Division of Behavioral Health at (803) 898.2565.  Thank you for your continued support of South Carolina Healthy Connections Medicaid Program.
