CMS Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office Timelines for Inclusion as a Medicare-Medicaid Plan

PROVIDER ALERT

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a memo on Oct. 17, 2019, with key dates for contract year (CY) 2021 Medicare-Medicaid Plan (MMP) applications. The memo included several key deadlines for organizations that are interested in participating in the Healthy Connections Prime Dual Demonstration Waiver in South Carolina for CY 2021. These dates are listed in the table below for reference. The first date, the deadline to submit a notice of intent to apply (NOIA) as a New/Initial MMP, is Nov. 11, 2019. The form to submit a NOIA as a New/Initial MMP is available on CMS’ website.

Submitting a NOIA allows an organization to access the Health Plan Management System (HPMS) at CMS and enables the organization to apply to participate as a MMP during CY 2021. Submitting a NOIA does not obligate an organization to participate as a MMP or guarantee the organization will be approved to participate in the Healthy Connections Prime Dual Demonstration Waiver during CY 2021.

The full CMS memo is available online. To download the memo, follow this link, open the zip file containing the HPMS memos for Week 3 and select the file titled “2021_NOIA_PartC_PartD_MMP-FINAL.PDF.”
