Free Provider Workshops: January-February 2016

Below is a schedule of the free provider workshops offered by the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to include Medicaid Basics, Comprehensive Web Tool, Web Tool Updates and Third Party Liability.

To attend these training sessions, you may register through the Healthy Connections Medicaid Provider Education website at or by calling the Provider Service Center at 1 (888) 289-0709. From the main menu, select option 1.


Medicaid Basics
Jan. 7, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Columbia
Feb. 9, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Columbia

Discover the South Carolina Healthy Connections Medicaid program. This course provides overviews on general policies and topics such as: eligibility, claim filing options, the remittance package, Third Party Liability (TPL) and claim-level adjustments.

Comprehensive Web Tool
Jan. 13, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Columbia
Feb. 18, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Columbia

Explore all the available features on the South Carolina Healthy Connections Medicaid web-based claims submission tool. This class navigates claim entry and submission as well as how to check eligibility, claim status and e-remits in the online tool.

Web Tool Attachments and Updates
Feb. 5, 10:30 a.m.-Noon, Greenville

NEW! For Medicaid Providers who would like information on new Web Tool functions. The workshop introduces providers to the Web Tool claim attachment feature. Emphasis is placed on the process of attaching documents to claims. Other new functions reviewed in the workshop include: status reporting, history of submitted claims and the draft claim menu.

Overview of Third Party Liability

Examine Third Party Liability (TPL) reporting responsibilities, refund process, claim adjudication, edit resolution and other resource information.


Overview of Claim-level Adjustments
Jan. 28, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Columbia

Learn the detail-level process that gives professional providers the capability of submitting claim-level adjustments directly to South Carolina Healthy Connections Medicaid.
