Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Part C Program (BabyNet) Updates

PROVIDER ALERT

Provider Payments Update

The first round of integrated payment processing for service coordinators and providers who render Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C (commonly known as BabyNet) services was conducted by the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) during the week of July 22, 2019. Payments were processed for dates of service July 1-20. Service coordinators and providers who rendered BabyNet services during this time frame should receive payment the week of July 29. If payment has not been received by Aug. 5, please contact BabyNet_Billing_Support@scdhhs.gov.

Web Tool Remittance

Service coordinators and therapy providers will track remittances for their submitted claims through the SCDHHS service provider web tool. Providers who currently receive an 835 transmission will continue to receive these files. An online training for service coordinators on how to use the web tool to review remittances is available on SCDHHS’ website in this five-minute video. Initially, service coordinators will see a lump sum amount in their remittances for each week’s worth of submitted claims. In the coming months, as the integration of BabyNet and Healthy Connections Medicaid services continues, service coordinators will begin to see claim-level detail in their remittances. If service coordinators need assistance with their web tool username and/or password, please contact EDIG.OPS-MCAID@bcbssc.comor call 888-289-0709 and select option 1.
