Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Part C Program (BabyNet) Updates and Important Dates

PROVIDER ALERT

Resources for Continuity of Care Period, which Begins Oct. 1

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) has been integrating the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C, commonly known as BabyNet, and Healthy Connections Medicaid programs over the past several months. The integration will improve the quality and delivery of services for infants and toddlers participating in the programs and standardize payment to providers who serve these children.

As previously announced, the continuity of care period for the integration is Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, through Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019. SCDHHS has prepared several resources for service providers, service coordinators, managed care organizations (MCOs) and other stakeholders in advance of the continuity of care period to facilitate a smooth transition. Some of these resources are summarized below; however, all previous communications, trainings and provided resources are available on the BabyNet website.
