List of School IDs to be Included on School-based Mental Health Claims Published

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) has published a list of the South Carolina Department of Education’s unique school IDs in support of its school-based mental health services initiative. The unique school ID must be included on claims submitted by providers for school-based mental health services. The list of unique school IDs is published on SCDHHS’ school-based mental health services webpage.

As a reminder, claims filed for school-based mental health services will require specific modifier(s) to receive reimbursement and must be filed with a place of service of “03.” These modifiers are available in the alternative fee schedule and will be discussed in pre-recorded training webinars designed for provider enrollment and claims submissions.

SCDHHS has published several resources for providers and school districts on its school-based mental health services webpage. In addition to these resources, the agency will publish a pre-recorded training webinar on claims submissions. SCDHHS will announce the availability of this training webinar in a future communication.

Please direct any questions or concerns regarding these policy changes to the SCDHHS Office of Behavioral Health at
