Actions Regarding Intensive Family Services

PUBLIC NOTICE: 
SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services gives notice of the following proposed actions regarding Intensive Family Services under the State Plan under Title XIX of the Social Security Act Medical Assistance Program (Medicaid).

Effective on or after January 1, 2015, SCDHHS proposes to amend the South Carolina Title XIX state plan to include Intensive Family Services (IFS) as a covered service. This service may be provided in the beneficiary's home and in their community setting. The service targets the family unit so as to promote positive treatment outcomes. This service is covered for beneficiaries ages 0-21.

Intensive Family Services must be provided consistent with approved AMA HCPCS code sets. SCDHHS projects that based upon the proposed actions, annual aggregate Medicaid expenditures are projected to increase by approximately $5,291,935 (total dollars).
