Regarding The Exclusion Of Eligibility Groups From Mandatory Enrollment In Managed Care

PUBLIC NOTICE:
SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) gives notice of the following proposed actions regarding the exclusion of eligibility groups from mandatory enrollment in Managed Care under the State Plan under Title XIX of the Social Security Act Medical Assistance Program (Medicaid).

Effective on or after January 1, 2015, SCDHHS proposes to amend the South Carolina Title XIX state plan to remove the language in Attachment 3.1-F, Page 9, Section F.3 of the State Plan excluding beneficiaries in the Family Planning Services Only eligibility category from mandatory enrollment into managed care. These beneficiaries would now be a mandatorily eligible group for enrollment in Coordinated Care and their benefits would remain the same.

SCDHHS does not anticipate a financial impact on this proposed change.

Copies of this notice are available at each County Department of Health and Human Services Office and at www.scdhhs.gov for public review. Additional information regarding this proposed action is available upon request at the address cited below.
