Public Notice of Final Action for the Physician Fee Schedule Rate Increase
The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) gives notice of the following actions regarding the Base Physician Fee Schedule rate increase under the State Plan under Title XIX of the Social Security Act Medical Assistance Program (Medicaid).
Effective on or after July 1, 2023, SCDHHS will amend the South Carolina Title XIX State Plan to update the physician base rate reimbursement methodology for certain established well and sick visits to 82% of the 2019 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.
SCDHHS is making these changes to enhance the network of providers rendering services to members enrolled in the South Carolina Healthy Connections Medicaid program. Based on the actions above, SCDHHS anticipates a budget impact of approximately $694,000 (total dollars) per year.
