Public Notice of Proposed Actions for Former Foster Care Youth—Coordinated Care
The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) gives notice of the following proposed actions regarding coverage of former Foster Care youth under the State Plan under Title XIX of the Social Security Act Medical Assistance Program (Medicaid).
Effective on or after July 1, 2017, SCDHHS proposes to amend the South Carolina Title XIX State Plan to add former foster care youth (individuals under age 26 who were in foster care in South Carolina at the age of 18) to the list of eligibility groups that will be mandatorily enrolled in coordinated care.
SCDHHS anticipates that the action above will initially be budget neutral, but will ultimately lead to cost savings through increases in coordination of care and better utilization management and review.
Copies of this notice are available at each County Department of Health and Human Services Office and at www.scdhhs.gov for public review. Additional information regarding this proposed action is available upon request at the address cited below.
