Updates to Interaction Between Medicaid HCBS Waiver Programs and the Hospice Benefit
Effective Jan. 1, 2025, the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is updating its hospice and HCBS waiver policies to remove limitations on simultaneously receiving both HCBS and hospice services. This change only applies to HCBS waiver participants who are enrolled in the Community Choices, HIV/AIDS and Mechanical Ventilator Dependent waiver programs.
Training
The agency will provide training tailored to HCBS and hospice providers. The training will cover updated policies and procedures related to this change. All training will be conducted via WebEx. Providers can register for the applicable training by clicking the following links:
