Community Long-term Care Provider Manual Update and Name Change
Effective July 1, 2024, the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) will issue provider manual updates for home and community-based services (HCBS) and children's personal care (CPC) services. The updates will also result in a name change for the provider manual from Community Long-term Care Provider Manual to Home and Community-based Services (HCBS) Provider Manual. Along with the name change, the manual will also include an updated Provider Scopes and Standards section that will replace the current Section 6. These updated sections will pertain to providers who render waiver or state plan services, as shown in the Service and Program Matrix.
A draft of the updated HCBS Provider Manual is available for review here. Providers are encouraged to submit feedback about the policy changes included in the draft manual by emailing MedicaidWaiver@scdhhs.gov by June 12, 2024. The revised manual will go into effect and be posted on the provider manual page of SCDHHS' website July 1, 2024.
Training will be available specifically to HCBS and CPC providers who will be impacted by this policy update. All training will be conducted via WebEx. Providers can register for the training below.
