Updates to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Provider Manual

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is updating the Autism Spectrum Disorder Services (ASD) Provider Manual. The updated ASD Provider Manual will be published on June 9, 2017, and will include three changes relative to the direct provision of services by applied behavior analysis (ABA) providers.

  1. Direct service limits for board certified behavior analysts (BCBAs) and board certified assistant behavior analysts (BCaBAs) will increase to 10% of direct service hours up to 32 units per month. Direct service hours are billed using 0362T, 0363T, 0364T and 0365T.
  2. In accordance with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) guidelines, case supervision must be provided by a BCBA or BCaBA.
  3. Providers will have the option of determining which ABA treatment delivery structure to utilize.
