Bath Safety Equipment
Effective for dates of service on or after Oct. 1, 2023, SCDHHS will begin reimbursing bath safety equipment under the State Plan durable medical equipment (DME) benefit instead of authorizing bath safety equipment through waiver case managers.
South Carolina’s Healthy Connections Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) are responsible for the coverage and reimbursement of services described in this bulletin for members enrolled in an MCO.
Updated policy language will be available in the Durable Medical Equipment Services provider manual on SCDHHS' website by Oct. 1, 2023.
