Head and Spinal Cord Injury 1915(c) Waiver Changes and Waiver Program Renewal Status

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services’ (SCDHHS) five-year renewal application for the 1915(c) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Head and Spinal Cord Injury (HASCI) waiver program. The approved renewal application is available on SCDHHS’ website.

CMS approved all the changes submitted to the HASCI waiver program. These changes were announced in Medicaid bulletin #23-030 and are effective retroactive to July 1, 2023.
