The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) has published frequently asked questions (FAQs) and responses related to the one-time direct care retention payments that were issued to HCBS providers through the agency’s American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) spending plan. The FAQs are specific to the payments announced in Medicaid Bulletin 23-001 and are available here.
Topics on the FAQ page include:
- The appropriate use of the one-time retention payment funds;
- The calculation used to determine the payment amount; and,
- How providers are expected to expend the funds.
