Public Notice of Final Action for Member Cost Sharing Update
The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) gives notice of the following actions regarding member cost sharing under the State Plan under Title XIX of the Social Security Act Medical Assistance Program (Medicaid).
Effective on or after July 1, 2024, SCDHHS will amend the South Carolina Title XIX State Plan to eliminate cost-sharing requirements for all members covered by the Healthy Connections Medicaid program.
SCDHHS is making these changes to support access to care; reduce administrative burden for providers, members and the agency; and improve Medicaid members' health outcomes.
Based on the actions above, SCDHHS anticipates a budget impact of approximately $5.1 million (total dollars) per year.

Any written comments submitted may be reviewed by the public at the SCDHHS, Bureau of Policy, 1801 Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
