Healthy Connections Medicaid team members and managed care plans will never ask for money, gift cards or something else of monetary value via text, email or a phone call. If someone contacts you asking for something of monetary value to get or keep Medicaid coverage, please report it by contacting the Medicaid fraud hotline at (888) 364-3224 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by sending an email to FraudRes@scdhhs.gov.

Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Providers – Provider Qualifications

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is revising the Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services (RBHS) Policy Manual. Changes will be effective on or after April 1, 2016.

Provision of Core Treatment Services must be provided by one of the following:

  • a qualified, licensed practitioner of the healing arts in accordance with their applicable South Carolina practice act;
  • a provider pursuing their independent license during a documented supervised period of clinical practice in accordance with their applicable South Carolina practice act; or
  • an employee of a governmental agency acting within an exemption under the applicable South Carolina practice act.
